Our History
The history of PP Chin Hin Sdn. Bhd. dates back 35 years ago. In 1974, founded under the name of Chop Chin Hin, the company started as a sole proprietorship dealing in small building material items.
Over the years, the business began to grow steadily – becoming what it is today; a thriving, fast growing group of companies. Following are the key milestones in our history:
| 1995 | As the distributorship of cement grew, Perniagaan & Pengangkutan Chin Hin Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated as a private limited company in Malaysia under the Companies Act, 1965. |
| 1998 | Our KL Office was opened at Udarama Complex, Off Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur as a service centre for cement customers in the Central Region. |
| 2002 | Chin Hin Plywood Co. Sdn. Bhd. was established as part of the company’s diversification strategy. |
| 2003 | Saga Concrete Sdn. Bhd. started operations as a ready-mixed concrete plant in Alor Setar. |
| 2004 | Chin Hin Building Materials Supply Sdn. Bhd. was set up in Alor Setar to deal in steel bars and other building materials. |
| 2004 | Chin Hin Building Materials Supply (KL) Sdn. Bhd. was set up in Kuala Lumpur to deal in other building material in the Central Region. |
| 2005 | As the business expanded, the Head Office in Alor Setar moved to its present address at Kompleks Sultan Abdul Hamid, Alor Setar. |
| 2005 | Chin Hin Building Materials Supply (JB) Sdn. Bhd. was set up to cater to the customers in the Southern Region. |
| 2006 | Our manufacturing plant, Chin Hin Cement Brick Sdn. Bhd. was established in Taiping, Perak. |
| 2007 | Started property development under its subsidiary, Pintar Muda Development Sdn. Bhd. The first housing project in Kangar was successfully completed. |
| Mar 2008 | C & H Transport Sdn. Bhd. was formed to take over the transport division of the Group. |
| May 2008 | Chin Hin Gypsum Sdn. Bhd. was set up as a supplier of gypsum rocks to the cement factories. |
| May 2008 | Chin Hin Concrete (KL) Sdn. Bhd. Was set up with the purpose of taking over the asset of Suntrack Concrete Sdn. Bhd. |
| Oct 2008 | Universal Concrete Mix Sdn. Bhd. became the latest ready-mixed company to join the Group. |
| Nov 2008 | The operations of Chin Hin Building Materials Supply (KL) Sdn. Bhd. was assumed by over by Perniagaan & Pengangkutan Chin Hin Sdn. Bhd. as the Group began its internal restructuring. |
| Jan 2009 | Perniagaan & Pengangkutan Chin Hin Sdn. Bhd. changed its name to PP Chin Hin Sdn. Bhd. to reflect its new corporate image on 1st January 2009. |
| Feb 2009 | PP Chin Hin, KL Branch, Chin Hin Concrete (KL) and Universal Concrete Mix relocated their offices to the new premises at the Kuchai Entrepreneurs Park. |
| Aug 2009 | Acquisition of Kelang Lama Land Sdn. Bhd. and its condominium project. |
| Sept 2009 | PP Chin Hin Pte Ltd was set up in Singapore to service the customers in Singapore. |
| Oct 2009 | Opening of PP Chin Hin branch and warehouse at Kuala Terengganu. |
| Nov 2009 | Opening of PP Chin Hin branch and warehouse at Mentakab, Pahang. |
| Chin Hin Building Materials Supply (JB) Sdn. Bhd. became PP Chin Hin Sdn. Bhd.'s Johor Branch. | |
| Dec 2009 | Chin Hin Plywood Co. Sdn. Bhd. Butterworth and Kota Baru became PP Chin Hin Sdn. Bhd. Penang and Kelantan respectively. |
